Eva Harris Jamison-Britt, age 74, of Columbia, Missouri, passed away peacefully on November 23, 2025. She was born on June 21, 1951, in St. Louis, Missouri, to the late Harry Jamison and Julia Mae Blackwell.
Eva graduated from Fulton High School in 1972 and went on to build a long and dedicated career as an Executive Assistant to Missouri State Senator J.B. "Jet" Banks, whom she served faithfully for more than 16 years. Known for her passion, headstrong spirit, and tremendous heart, Eva gave endlessly of herself and was always willing to help anyone in need. She loved her family fiercely, lived life to the absolute fullest, and never apologized for who she was. She smoked, drank, and cussed like a sailor, but laughed loudly, loved deeply, and brought an unmistakable fire and joy everywhere she went. Animals had a special place in her heart, she enjoyed traveling, and she treasured every moment spent with those she loved.
Her greatest joy and sanctuary, as a child, was her beloved family farm-a Century Farm in Steelville, MO, owned by her family for 135 years. First purchased in 1895 by her grandfather, Abraham L. "Abe" Jamison, after acquiring it from his father (who had also been his former enslaver), the land stood as a testament to resilience, legacy, and enduring love. For Eva, the farm was more than a home; it was a place of peace and the heritage she was most proud to preserve.
Eva is survived by her sons, Ernest RoyDale Jamison, Harris "Pooh" Brown Jr., and Jared "JB" Britt (Kasche); her grandchildren, Sydney N. Jamison, Samia N. Britt, Jaira N. "Coco" Adams, Jared L. "JJ" Britt Jr., and Jayda M. Britt; her great-grandchild, Kayson L. Riojas; and one great-grandchild on the way.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her daughter, Julia Britt; her brothers, Edward G. Jamison, George F. Jamison, Darley "Stude" Jamison, Roy Blackwell, and Robert "Jr." Blackwell; her sister, Delphine Hester; and her grandson, Jaden D. "Man Man" Adams.
Visitation will be held on December 6, 2025, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., followed by a service at 12:00 p.m., at Parker-Millard Funeral Service, 12 E. Ash St., Columbia, MO 65203.
Flowers may be sent directly to Parker-Millard Funeral Home. Contributions may be made, in Eva's name, to the Columbia Second Chance Animal Rescue, P.O. Box 10186, Columbia, MO 65205.
Eva's legacy of strength, compassion, humor, and love for her family will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
Arrangements are under the direction of Parker-Millard Funeral Service & Crematory, 12 East Ash Street, Columbia, MO 65203 (573) 449-4153. Condolences may be left online for the family at www.millardfamilychapels.com
