Frances Strobel, 82, of
Russellville, Missouri, passed away at home with family by her side on November 25, 2025, after a five year battle with Alzheimer's Disease. She will be remembered for her fierce loyalty rooted in sacrificial love. Her heart and home were opened to anyone in need.
In 1943, Frances was born in
Brooklyn, New York to Alfred and Rose Sposato. She was the eldest sister to JoAnn and Laura, and aunt to Kelly, who all meant the world to her. Her early years in Brooklyn were spent surrounded by generations of family, and her cousins were her best friends.
Frances got married to her first husband, Frank, and they welcomed their only child, Trish, her first pride and joy. Frances became a hairdresser and interior designer while moving from New York, to New Jersey, to Arizona. After becoming a widow, she later met and married Larry Strobel in Arizona, and gained three additional daughters, Kelly, Kim, and Heidi, who she loved and raised like they were her own. At Frances' request, they moved and settled on the Strobel family farm in
Russellville, Missouri. Her three sons-in-law, Bob, Jason, and Scott, who were like the sons she always wanted but never had, also moved close by.
As a country girl at heart, she quickly took on cattle farming alongside Larry, and brought home any stray animals that crossed her path. Frances was an entrepreneur, owned a historic building in downtown Russellville, and she was not only widely known for her own custom frame business, Hidden Valley Designs, but also provided other small businesses a place to flourish in that space. Another accomplishment was beating breast cancer while continuing to work and care for her family, friends, and community.
Frances' faith was strong. She believed God guided her to Larry. On October 9th, 2025, they celebrated 33 years of marriage filled with love and devotion. Alongside spending time with Larry, Frances found great joy in caring for people, animals, dancing, fishing at the lake, RVing, and most of all cooking for others; but, her greatest joys were her grandchildren: Amanda, Melissa, Bryce, Madison, Kellanne, Emerick, Renara, and great-grandson, Oliver.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations in Frances' name to the Jefferson City Animal Shelter.
Friends will be received from 4:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Weber-Millard Funeral Home on Friday, December 5, 2025. A Celebration of Life will be held 10:30 a.m. at Cortecelli Baptist Church in Russellville on Saturday, December 6. 2025, with Pastor Greg Morrow officiating.
Arrangements are under the direction of WEBER-MILLARD Funeral Home, 13415 Route C,
