The staff of Heishman Funeral Home/Valley Funeral Service sends condolences to the family of Mrs. Eva Lee Mobley/Berkowitz. Eva Lee Mobley/Berkowitz, 104, of Mt. Jackson, passed away Tuesday, September 9, 2025, at Shenandoah Memorial Hospital. A Celebration of life will be held at a later date. She will be interred in Forest Hill Cemetery in Rock Hill, SC. Mrs. Berkowitz was born April 15, 1921, in Rock Hill, SC., daughter of the late Ellie Harmon and Margie Etta Burgess Brazzell. Eva was a member of Mt. Jackson United Methodist Church. Eva is survived by her sons; Robert Mobley and Joan of Michigan, Steve Mobley and Beverly of Florida, and Gene Mobley and Susan of Mt. Jackson; 10 grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Robert Mobley and Henry Berkowitz and daughter, Sharon Weaver. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St, Judes Children's Hospital, 501 St. Jude’s Place, Memphis, TN., 38105 or Blue Ridge Hospice, 333 W. Cork Street, Suite #405, Winchester, VA 22601. Eva loved shopping and interacting with people. Eva spent a lot of time travelling and living in different places. Eva's husband Robert ("Bobby") served in the military, beginning his career during World War II, for 23 and a half years before he retired. Mr. Mobley's military service meant that their entire family would move around. After Bobby became sick and passed away, Eva met Henry Berkowitz, they got married and moved to Florida where they spent the next 25 years until Henry's passing. She was active with Meals on Wheels in Florida until the age of 93. One year after Mr. Berkowitz passed, Eva moved back to Mt. Jackson, Virginia. She loved going to church and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She was an inspiration to all that knew her. The family would like to especially thank Debbie Patton for her care and the friendship that she showed Eva. Online condolences may be left at www.valleyfs.com.
