Eva Tana (Pierce) Monaghan, 57, of State Route 51, passed away peacefully with her loving family by her side on July 19, 2022, after a courageous battle with lung disease.
She was born August 12, 1964 in Cooperstown, NY to Margaret (Peggy) Carney Gardner. Eva graduated from Sauquoit Valley Central School in 1982 and went on to work in the food service industry where she excelled. She cherished spending time with her two grandsons who brought her tremendous joy.
Just three days before her passing, Eva was blessed with the birth of her first granddaughter, Kylie Emma Monaghan, the name "Emma" in tribute to Eva, as it was the name Eva's grandchildren called her.
In addition to her mother, Eva is survived by her daughter, Cassandra M. Puglese, and her son, Ryan Kyle Monaghan Sr., and his fiancé, Nicole Larkin; her grandchildren, Colton Michael Puglese, Ryan Kyle Monaghan Jr., and the aforementioned Kylie Emma; her sisters, Laurie (Norm) Seymour; Charlene (Ron) Rose; Debby (Ben) Williams; Donna (Mike) Parment; as well as several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews and a multitude of close friends. Eva is also survived by her former husband, Tom Monaghan. She was predeceased by her grandfather and grandmother, John (Eva) Carney and her father, John M. Gardner.
Eva possessed a wonderfully unique sense of humor, along with a highly positive outlook on life, which made her greatly loved by those who knew her. She was a down-to-earth individual who always made people feel comfortable. She had an affinity for her cats and took great joy in loving and caring for them.
The family is forever grateful to Eva's sister, Donna, for the exceptional kindness, care, compassion and
love she provided as Eva's health declined. Special appreciation is also given to Hospice and Nurse Ann who were always there for Eva's every need.
Family and friends are invited to attend services for Eva to be held at Mohawk Valley Funerals and Cremations, 7507 NY-5 (corner of Bidleman Road), Little Falls, 315-508-5131 on Saturday, July 30, 2022. A calling hour will take place from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m, with a brief service to follow. Burial will be private. The family greatly appreciates any donations made in Eva's memory to Hospice & Palliative Care.
