Eva Frances "Fran" Moore, age 90, passed away on October 28, 2025, in Comanche, Texas after a long struggle with dementia. She was born at home on March 10, 1935, in Gustine, Texas, to Gilbert Hayes Gleaton and Golda Lee (Kearney) Gleaton. Fran married her one true love, Jack N. Moore, on August 4, 1953, and they shared a beautiful life together. They moved to Lubbock in 1957 where Jack completed college and worked as an engineer with the Texas Highway Department while Fran worked for the Lubbock County Tax Assessor Motor Vehicle Department. Jack and Fran raised their three children, were active in the community, and attended Monterey Baptist Church. Fran moved back to Gustine in her later years and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Gustine.
Fran was the kind of person who lit up a room with her smile. She loved square dancing and was known for her amazing sewing skills. Fran's retired life included extensive travel in the US and abroad with good friends from Lubbock and Gustine. She collected blue glass and spoons from every place she visited. A founding member of the Gustine Red Hat Society, Fran enjoyed planning events, visiting interesting places, scrapbooking their events, and socializing with her Red Hat friends. She was also a family historian and passionate about genealogy. After Fran moved back to Gustine, she could always be counted on to be in the stands cheering the Gustine Tigers at every sporting and academic event. Fran was a friend to everyone and devoted herself to her family, friends, and community in countless ways.
She is survived by her son, Terry Moore & wife Pat; son, Ted Moore & wife Liz; daughter, Lee Ann Snook & husband Johnnie. Grandchildren: Christopher Moore & wife Carrie, Jason Moore & wife Megan, Emily Green & husband Matt, Phillip Moore & wife Laura, and Austin Moore. Great grandchildren: Logan, Landon, & McKenzie Moore; Hilton, Finley, & Margot Moore; Camilla Moore; Jack & Gemma Green; special sisters-in-law, Patsy Moore and Jan Pack; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Fran is preceded in death by her husband, Jack N. Moore; parents, Gilbert Hayes Gleaton & Golda Lee Kearney; brother, Jack Gleaton; and sister, Betty Hedges.
The family extends a heartfelt thank you to Dr. Jeffery Moore, Dr. Molly Gray, the nurses and staff at Legacy Estate, Stephenville Nursing and Rehabilitation, and Solaris Healthcare for their compassion, care, and friendship during Fran's later years.
In lieu of flowers the family and Fran have requested donations be sent to the March of Dimes.
