Eva Nell Rivers Nold, age 73, formally of Sun, Louisiana passed away Sunday September 15, 2024.
She was a graduate of Prince Geroge High School, Virginia in 1968. She obtained a degree from Jimmy Swaggart Ministries in Baton Rouge. She grew up as a military brat moving around from Germany, Texas, Virginia, back to Frankfurt Germany and then settling in her parents’ home state Louisiana with her mother, father and brother “Billy”. While in Virginia she met the love of her life James “Eddy” Nold and the two were married August 10th, 1968. Immediately after they moved to Alaska due to “Eddy” being stationed there for the military. They wasted no time arriving in her graduation present a Mach 1 Mustang. They moved from Alaska, Virginia and finally back to Louisiana. Eva worked several jobs before retiring as a homemaker. At a young age she worked at Burger Chef. Later she worked for BellSouth Communications in Bogalusa, LA in the 1970’s as well as JC Penney’s. She then took an EMT course and started working as a 911 operator in Covington, LA for several years and finally ended her work at Walmart Supercenter in Covington, LA. As a hobby she opened Woodland Gift shop and sold gifts and collectables from her home. She loved to travel, research new places, do puzzles and games, collect troll statues from Cosby, TN, spend time with family, and be her grand/ great grandchildren’s biggest cheerleader, such as watching ball games and dance competitions live stream or just by humming a sweet tune to them. Eva loved unique things and Halloween season due to her October birthday. She was known as a kind, sweet and sometimes spunky friend to all her knew her.
Preceded in death by her parents G.C. and Janice Rivers, her husband James “Ed” Nold, sister-in-law Debbie Edwards, brother-in-law Johnny Nold, and one son in law Rankin Stogner.
She is survived by her brother William “Billy” Rivers. Two daughters Heather Nold Snyder (J.C.), Jamie Nold Williams (Jody). Four Grandchildren- Jennifer Penton (John), Paige Nold (Grey), Kyle Bordelon (Leslie), McKenzie Williams. Two great grandchildren- Rylee Mitchell and Memphis Penton. Brother-in-law Sam Cleotelis and sister-in-law Lynn Nold and son in law Roy Snyder. Her loving pets- two Dogs-Maxx, Ruby June and Cat-Morticia, and numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends.
The family will receive friends from 11:00am Friday September 20th for visitation with service commencing at 1:00PM in The Chapel of Bagnell & Son Funeral Home. Graveside burial to follow at Mizell Cemetery in Sun, LA.
