Eva Esther Pizarro, 73, of
Springfield, Massachusetts, passed away peacefully at Baystate Medical Center on December 12, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.
She was born on July 22, 1952, in Vega Baja, Puerto Rico to the late Eusebio Pizarro Santos and Angela Aviles Pizarro.
At 5 years old, Esther moved to the United States with her parents and siblings. Raised and educated in
Springfield, Massachusetts, Esther was a proud graduate of the High School of Commerce and Springfield Technical Community College where she studied Art. She went on to dedicate many years of service to the City of Springfield, first at City Hall and then as a Cost Control Clerk for Facilities Management, from where she retired.
Esther found great joy in drawing, painting, baking, and traveling. Her adventurous spirit led her across the world where she delighted in experiencing new places and cultures.
Esther's warmth, kindness, and unwavering love will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Esther is survived by her devoted daughter, Carla Cobb, and her husband Michael of South Windsor, Connecticut; three cherished grandchildren, Michael, Caden, and Alanna, who were the joy of her life; her beloved partner of nearly 50 years, Carl Williams of Springfield; her caring brothers, Juan Pizarro and his partner Lourdes of Springfield, and Nieves Pizarro and his wife Hazel of Agawam; her loving sisters, Eva Pizarro Reyes and her husband Luis of Chicopee, Elizabeth Pizarro of Springfield, and Noemi Cruz and late husband Moises of Springfield. She also leaves behind a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins who she cherished greatly.
Family and friends will gather for a celebration of life on Monday, December 22, 2025, for a calling hour from 10am-11am at the Byron Keenan Funeral Home and Cremation Tribute Center, 1858 Allen Street,
Springfield, MA 01118, followed by Words of Remembrance at 11am. Burial will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery, Springfield. Esther's legacy of love, laughter, and family devotion will live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her.
