Ms. Shumake, 86, passed away on Friday, May 2, 2025 at UMMC in Jackson, MS. She was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church. Her hobbies included sewing, yard work, cleaning the house, going to church, doing church work and crossword puzzles.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Feldon Shumake; parents, Francis Jack Polk and Minnie Odell Cooper Polk; sisters, Mageline Gibson, Leslie Wallace, Shirley Jim; brothers, Harry Polk, George Polk, Sr., Arthur Farmer.
Survivors include sisters, Clettie Willis and Ruby John; a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
Pallbearers are Harland Wallace, Milton Henry, Jr., Damian Polk, Darrell Thomas, Kirk McMillan, Dakota Anderson. Honorary pallbearers are Tushka Willis, Craig Willis, Jordan Frazier, Mickey Polk, Jermaine Tubby and Dave Frazier.
