Evan Brady passed away peacefully at the age of 96.
He was born on March 19, 1929, in Duchesne, Utah to a family he cherished.
As a young man, Evan proudly served in the U.S. Army in Germany. On April 30, 1954, he married Betty Jeane Nelson in the Salt Lake Temple. They raised their two children in American Fork, and opened their hearts as foster parents.
After 40 years at the U.S. Steel Plant, Evan and Betty became the proud owners of The Yogurt Parlor. For 22 years, they served their famous meat pies, offered many young people their very first jobs, and created a place of warmth and friendship.
A devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Evan served faithfully in many callings and was active in the Boy Scouts of America, sharing his love of the outdoors with countless youth.
Evan's life was defined by generosity, kindness, and quiet strength. His final words, "Everything is good," reflect the faith and optimism with which he lived each day. He was a gift to this world and will be remembered always.
He is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Betty, and survived by his children: Scot Brady and Vanet (John) Clemons; grandchildren Jennifer (Dylan) Welsh, Jacy (Seth) Boyack, Trevor (Mia) Brady and Whitney (Alex) Donahue; and four great grandchildren who adored him.
