Evan Murkin, our loving and devoted son, brother, and friend, passed on September 17, 2025.

Born on August 28, 2005, in Kansas City, Kansas, Evan was the beloved son of Laura, the protective big brother of Chloe, like a son to his Uncle, Curtis Boyert, and like a brother to his cousin, Gage Boyert. Evan was also loved beyond measure by his grandparents, Mike and Beckie Medina, and Deb and Don DeSeure.

As a child, Evan played numerous team sports and competed in Technology Student Association. His leadership skills, although often quiet and understated, came naturally. Without even trying, he was usually the center of the group.

After graduating from Basehor High School in 2024, Evan began his studies at Kansas City Kansas Community College, pursuing a degree in business. He was recently recommended for an honors distinction by the college. Alongside his education, Evan was a dedicated employee at Nebraska Furniture Mart, where he worked faithfully for four and a half years. At work, Evan's dependability and work ethic earned him multiple promotions.

Evan will be remembered for his kind heart, his strong work ethic, and unwavering love for family and friends. His bright spirit touched the lives of many. His memory will continue to live on in those who knew and loved him.

A Celebration of Life will be held for Evan on Sunday, September 28th, 3-7:00 pm, the Big Red Barn at Noyes Family Farm, 21576 155th St, Basehor, KS 66007. Our time together will be casual and informal, just as Evan would have wanted. The Chief's game will be on, and food will be provided. Please come and share your memories. Everyone is welcome.
