Mr. Evan Chase Thompson, 22, passed away on Tuesday, April 1, 2025. He was born in Iredell County on July 18, 2002 to Kasey Thompson and Bobbie Kilby Thompson. Evan was an excellent athlete, as he really excelled playing basketball, football, track, and swimming. He was quite the artist and did beautiful work. Evan also enjoyed music. He was a loyal friend to all who had the privilege to be his friend. Above all, he absolutely loved spending time with his family and friends, and took great pride in being an “uncle” as he really doted over his nieces and nephews. He will be deeply missed by those who loved him.
Evan was preceded in death by his mother, Bobbie and a grandfather, Jimmy Kilby. He is survived by his father, Kasey Thompson and his wife, April Thompson; siblings, Sydney Matthews (Jed), Brianna Thompson (Bobby), Bailey Thompson (Dalton), Michael Mason (Jessica), and Makayla Mason; grandparents, Stephen and Mary Thompson, and Pat Kilby; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm on Wednesday, April 9, 2025 at Gentry Family Funeral Service in Yadkinville. A funeral service will follow in the Gentry Family Chapel. Gentry Family Funeral Service of Yadkinville is serving the Thompson family.
