Evans Clayson “E. C.” Everett, age 69, of Baxley passed away Wednesday, July 9, 2025 at his residence.
E. C. was born December 19, 1956 and was a native and lifelong resident of Appling County. He was a farmer, a meat cutter at Winn Dixie, and a scale operator at Rayonier. He was a devoted family man and a former Gideon. He attended Emmanual Baptist Church in Blackshear. E. C. was preceded in death by his father, Lyman Clayson Everett, daughter, Nicole Hallman, and parents-in-law, Sherod & Annette Higgins.
Survivors include his wife, Cindy Higgins Everett of Baxley; daughter, Melissa (Brent) Johnson of Baxley; mother, Gwen Everett of Baxley; brothers, Deryl (Kathy) Everett of Baxley and Darvin (Judy) Everett of Fitzgerald; grandchildren, Hunter Hallman, Hayven Hallman, Lily Anna Johnson, and Sadie Mae Johnson; and several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 12, 2025 at 3:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Swain Funeral Home with Rev. Bryan Gill and Rev. Todd Crosby officiating. Interment will follow in Satilla Baptist Church Cemetery.
Active pallbearers will be Glen Carter, Terry Crosby, Scotty Weaver, Carol Waters, Randall Odum, and Rocky Courson.
Visitation will be one hour prior to the funeral service.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Gideons International Appling Camp P. O. Box 403 Baxley, Georgia 31515.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Swain Funeral Home.
