Evaughn Lawanda Lyday (Cox), 73, of Greenville, Texas, passed away peacefully in her home
on July 12, 2025, surrounded by loved ones.
Born on November 30, 1951, in Dallas, Texas, Evaughn was known for her love of life,
adventurous spirit, and a heart that embraced everyone she met. Her laughter, quick wit, and
joyful energy brought light into every room. She had a deep love for music, dancing, camping,
holiday traditions (especially Christmas), and never missed a chance for a cruise or casino trip.
Her independent and determined nature was matched only by the love she gave so freely to her
family.
Evaughn retired from the Department of Health and Human Services, where she served as the
supervisor to a team of compassionate caseworkers, dedicated to helping those in need.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Bobby Lyday, her parents Orville and
Dorothy Cox, her brother James Cox, and many loved ones who welcomed her with open arms.
She is survived by her children: Charles Bryant Jr. (wife Sarah), Lisa Rowe (husband Greg),
Jason Bryant (wife Ginger), and Chris Lyday (wife Cammie).
She also leaves behind many grandchildren and great-grandchildren who were the joy of her life.
She is survived by her sister Carolyn Hoyt (husband Mike), sister-in-law Paulette Cox, and many
nieces and nephews who will miss her dearly.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, July 17, 2025, from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Lynch Funeral
Service Chapel, 4238 State Highway 34 S, Greenville, TX 75402.
Her funeral service will take place on Friday, July 18, 2025, at 10:00 AM, also at Lynch Funeral
Service Chapel, followed by a procession to her final resting place at Rockwall Memorial
Cemetery, where she will join her beloved mother, father, and husband.
Evaughn's strength, humor, and unwavering love will forever be remembered. She lived life on
her terms-full of heart, full of laughter, and always dancing to her own tune.
