JoAnn Lyday, 88, a devoted mother and grandmother, passed away at Houston Methodist Downtown on June 2, 2025, surrounded by her loved ones.
Born on January 6, 1937, in Farris, Oklahoma, JoAnn was the last surviving member of her immediate family, which included her parents, five brothers, and one sister.
She is survived by her three children: Billy Wiggins and wife Gayla, Tammy Haddad and spouse Terrie Sweet, and Ted Wiggins and wife Sandy. She also leaves behind her grandchildren: Will Wiggins, Matt Wiggins, John Haddad, Jody Haddad, Lexi Wiggins, Cari Wiggins-Williford, and step-granddaughter Ashlie Holmes.
JoAnn's vibrant presence, fiery passion, and enduring love have created a legacy that will resonate with her family for generations. She will be remembered as a woman of strong faith, full of joy and laughter.
A gathering of family and friends will be held on Friday, June 6, 2025 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., at Melancon Levingston Funeral Home located at 5601 39th St., Groves, Texas 77619. A Celebration of JoAnn’s Life will be celebrated on Saturday, June 7, 2025, at 11:00 a.m., at Melancon Levingston Funeral Home in Groves. Interment will follow at Oak Bluff Memorial Park in Port Neches.
Pallbearers include William Wiggins IV, John Haddad, Mathew Wiggins, Joseph Haddad, Brian Rucker, and Carl Haddad.
