Evelene Jeanette Smallwood, a beloved mother, sister, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on December 5, 2024, in Griffin, Georgia. Born on August 18, 1940, in Atlanta, Georgia, she lived a life full of love and devotion to her family, reaching the age of 84.
Evelene was preceded in death by her cherished husband, Henry William Smallwood, Jr., with whom she shared 57 wonderful years of marriage. Together, they built a loving family that continues to honor their legacy.
She is survived by her devoted children: daughters Diane Chen (Johnny), Pamela Scarbrough, and Paula Willene Ward; sons Wayne Smallwood, William Smallwood, III (Angela), Randy Smallwood (Misty), and Michael Smallwood (Robin). Evelene's nurturing spirit lives on in her 23 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren, who brought her immense joy and pride.
Evelene is also survived by her dear sister, Emily Stewart, and her brothers, Billy Chosewood, Raymond Chosewood, Denny Chosewood, and Donald Chosewood. Her extended family and numerous friends will fondly remember her warmth and kindness.
Funeral services to honor Evelene's life will be held on Monday, December 9, 2024, at 1:00 PM at the Chapel of Parrott Funeral Home. Following the service, Evelene will be laid to rest at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens. Family and friends are invited to gather for visitation on Sunday, December 8, 2024, from 2:00 PM until 4:00 PM.
Evelene Jeanette Smallwood will be deeply missed by all who knew her, but her spirit and love will remain in the hearts of those she touched throughout her life.
