Catharine Evelyn Bartchlett, 88, of Findlay, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, November 8, 2025. She was born on April 4, 1937, in Findlay to Orville J. Cooper and Catharine (Dillon) Cooper. She married the love of her life, Richard R. Bartchlett, on August 27, 1966.
Evelyn is survived by her husband, Richard; daughter, Bonnie (Brian) Burkett; grandsons, Dillon Burkett and Hunter Burkett. She is also survived by siblings, Barbara Hovis, Jeanne (Terry) Bowen, James (Sharon) Cooper; sister-in-law Beverly Cooper, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was proceeded in death by her parents, Orville and Catharine Cooper; siblings John Cooper Sr., Sue (Charlie) Swisher and Elva (James) Peterson; and brother-in-law Raymond Bartchlett.
Evelyn and Richard were active members of the East Foulke Avenue Church of God (later known as Stonebridge Church of God) where she faithfully served as Sunday school teacher, youth counselor, and choir member for numerous years.
In her early years, she worked at Montgomery Ward and later at Jerry’s Restaurant, Findlay Sundre Sales, Hudson Group Administrators and Ford Motor Credit, where she retired from. She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially grandsons Dillon and Hunter, never missing a sporting event or school function. She was also a lifelong fan of the Cleveland Indians (Guardians) attending several home games and even a trip to a spring training game with Richard.
Although in her later years dementia took her memories, it never took her loving spirit and smile. She was lovingly cared for by her faithful husband Richard, best friend and neighbor Cindy Schiltz, Eli Nichols, and the tremendous team at Bridge Hospice.
A celebration of Evelyn’s life will be held on Wednesday, November 19, from 5-7pm at HUFFORD FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 1500 Manor Hill Rd., Findlay, (419-422-1500). A private burial will be held at Knollcrest Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Bridge Home Health and Hospice or the Alzheimer’s Association.
