Evelyn Bishop, 77, passed away Wednesday, April 2, 2025 at her residence in Sallis, MS.
Funeral services are 11:00 am on Saturday April 5, 2025 at Sallis Baptist Church with burial to follow at Stump Ridge Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9:30 am until service time at the church.
Evelyn is survived by her husband Wayne Bishop, her daughter Helen Wooten (Rob), her sons Cliff Bishop (Melanie), Bill Bishop (Dee Dee), Chad Bishop (Barbara) and Aaron Bishop, and her sister Doris Boatman. She is also survived by her grandchildren C W Bishop (Coy), Taylor Bishop, Ashlyn, Ashton, and Mary Claire, Brad, Jon, Matt Tate & Bailey Britt, Jade Estes (Caleb), Patrick and Katelyn White and Ryan Horne, Madison Ann Marie Bishop, Nicholas Wooten (Julie), Walker Wooten (Suzie), Cecilia Love (Brody) and Jessica Wooten. Her great-grandchildren are Cinlee, Cainslee, Mackenzie, Kennedy, John, Wyatt, Eli, Lexi, Ryan, Blaze, Audrey, Jaxon, Bayleigh, Michael, Zoey, Alissa, Ashton, Raelyne, and Jayce.
Evelyn was a member of Sallis Baptist Church. She was a homemaker and retired from Holmes Community College. She was a volunteer at the Natchez Trace Visitors Center, Kairos and Emmaus. She was active in church as long as she was able to attend. She was a strong loving mother that taught her children true Christian values. She was a confidant and support person for her husband, children, family and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents Cecil William and Loraine Turner Allen, her brothers Lamar Allen, Ross Allen, Burton Allen and Floyd Allen, sister Cynthia Yvonne Whitman, daughter-in-law Teressa Pritchard Bishop and great-grandsons Tripp Bishop and Carter Wooten.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Sallis Baptist Church Family Life Center.
