Mrs. Mary “Evelyn” Braden, age 100, of Rome, GA passed away on Wednesday, December 11, 2024 at her home surrounded by her loved ones.
Evelyn was born on December 1, 1924 in Taylorsville, GA. She was the daughter of the late Mr. Felix Milam and Mrs. Bertha Mae Proctor Milam. She worked for General Electric as a Switch Board Operator for many years and was a faithful member of North Broad Baptist Church. Mrs. Braden loved The Lord immensely and her church, North Broad Baptist. She had a passion for playing the piano and dedicated herself to teaching numerous individuals how to master the instrument. Evelyn was a loving wife, mother and friend and will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband in 2005, Robert Frank Braden, Sr. and her daughter, Carol Elaine Tull.
She is survived by her loving son, Robert Frank Braden, Jr. of Rome, GA, several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services to celebrate the life of Mrs. Mary “Evelyn” Braden will be held on Friday December 13, 2024 at 3:00 PM at North Broad Baptist Church with Rev. Micah Pritchett officiating. Priscilla Tunnell will perform the musical selections for the service. Interment will follow the service at Oaknoll Memorial Gardens.
Serving as pallbearers will be the following gentlemen: David Braden, Sr., Don Yother, David Braden, Jr. Leslie Yother, Bryan Tull, Chip Shepard and Leslie Groves. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Mrs. Braden’s loving grandchildren.
The family will receive friends on Friday December 13, 2024, at North Broad Baptist Church from 1:00 PM until the service hour at 3:00 PM.
