Jack Grayson Copeland, age 82, passed away peacefully on October 7, 2025. He was born on December 28, 1942, in Dothan, Alabama, to the late Jack and Auline Copeland. Jack led a life characterized by his unwavering devotion to his family and friends, as well as his contributions to his community.
Jack proudly served his country in the United States Air Force, embodying the values of perseverance and dedication throughout his life. Following his military service, he embarked on a fulfilling 30 plus- year career as a manager at the Credit Bureau of Rome, Georgia, where he was respected by his colleagues for his diligence and commitment.
Jack was a man of deep Baptist faith. He found great joy in nurturing his garden and yard, using those moments to connect with nature, reflect on life, and find peace. He loved spending time at his second home on the lake, riding Waverunners and taking evening Pontoon rides. He cherished the moments spent with friends during their weekly Sunday, Monday and Thursday breakfast gatherings, where laughter and camaraderie filled the air.
Jack is preceded in death by his loving wife, Ida Jean Copeland; and his parents, Jack Copeland and Auline Copeland.
He is survived by his loving daughter, Susanne Clanton, and her husband, Bil Clanton; his cherished grandson, Gage Clanton; and his sister, Rita Bridges. He also held a special place in his heart for his dog, Piper, who was a constant companion and source of joy.
The family will receive friends and loved ones at Salmon Funeral Home and Crematory on Friday, October 10, 2025 from 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM. A Graveside Service will be held at Oaknoll Cemetery beginning at 2:30 PM with Reverend Derek Hall officiating.
