Evelyn Cone Obituary

She was born on April 7, 1948, in York Haven, Pennsylvania to the late Roy and Elsie Trowbridge. On December 16, 1966, Evelyn married Jessie Walter Cone in Lancaster, PA. They created a life and family together. She worked as an LPN nurse for many years and cared deeply for her patients. Evelyn was an avid reader and enjoyed a variety of books. She loved to sit in peace at the park and read for hours. Her greatest joys were her great-grandchildren.
She is survived by her children: Teresa Lynn Cone Dillard and John Harold Cone and his wife, Kelly LeVasseur Cone; grandchildren - Johnathon (Anna) Dillard, Jordon (Jaycee) Dillard, Matthew Cone, Daniel Cone, Jacob Cone, Aaron Cone; three great grandchildren - Wylee, Maverick, and Magnolia; brother, Ronald Trowbridge and sister-in-law, Maggie Elizabeth "Libby" Cone Tawzer.
In addition to her parents and husband, Evelyn was preceded in death by two brothers - David and Robert Trowbridge; two sisters - Elaine Trowbridge and Carla Trowbridge Wise Zirkle, and son-in-law - Wiley Jefferson "Jeff" Dillard.
A Celebration of Life service will be held 10 am, Friday, January 24th, 2025, at the Reflection Chapel (106 E 12th St, Tifton, GA 31794).
In lieu of flowers- the family requests that donations be made to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation and/or the Anita Stewart Oncology Center, 1623 Madison Ave, Tifton, GA 31794.
