Evelyn Driver Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Beyers Funeral Home & Crematory - Umatilla on Feb. 11, 2026.
Evelyn Azie Driver was born on April 8, 1938, in Ponce De Leon, Florida, to Preeby and Azie Curry. She peacefully passed away surrounded by family on February 9, 2026, at the Lane Purcell Hospice House in Sumterville, Florida.

Evelyn was a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, sister, and aunt. She leaves behind a powerful legacy of faith, love, and devotion to family that will continue for generations.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Edgar Driver; her children Hullon, Lavan, and Faye; her sons-in-laws Frank and Jerry; her grandson Ryan; her grandson-in-law Shawn; her brothers Ted and Henry; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Evelyn is survived by her four children: Edward (Brenda), Ann (Barney), Naomi (Ronnie), and Alex. She is also survived by her brother Wilton (Pat), her sisters Syble and Priscilla, and many cherished nieces and nephews.

A proud mother of seven, Evelyn's greatest joy in life was her family. She was blessed with 22 grandchildren, 50 great-grandchildren, and 20 great-great-grandchildren, each of whom she loved fiercely and unconditionally. Her home-and her heart-were always open, and she had a remarkable way of making everyone feel welcomed, valued, and deeply loved.

Throughout her life, Evelyn held many occupations. She worked in a cigar factory, in housekeeping, and as a cook at Henderson House Assisted Living Facility. Yet her favorite and most treasured role was being a devoted wife and a loving mother to her children.

Known for her unwavering faith, Evelyn found strength and comfort in her relationship with the Lord. She looked forward with peace to the day she would be reunited with her loved ones. Her kindness, resilience, and steadfast devotion to family will be forever remembered by all who knew her.

Evelyn's legacy lives on through the countless lives she touched, the values she instilled, and the love she poured into her family every single day. Though she will be missed beyond measure, her family finds comfort in knowing she is now whole again and at home in Heaven.
