Evelyn M. Gregory, 95, of Lebanon, IL, passed away on Tuesday, November 25, 2025, at Benedictine Living Community at the Shrine in Belleville, IL, surrounded by loved ones.
She was born on November 9, 1930, in Taylorville, IL, to Emery and Marie (nee Chesterman) Beaty. On August 26, 1950, she married William H. Gregory in Centralia, IL.
Evelyn was a Public-School Music Teacher. She was a member at First United Methodist Church in Lebanon, IL, Young at Heart, United Methodist Women, P.E.O., Illinois Education Association (I.E.A.), Evelyn had a strong Faith in her Lord, she was a strong believer in women’s rights, believed education went from birth to death, “you never stop learning”. She had a strong love of her family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Emery and Marie Beaty; sister, Louise Smock; brother, Paul Beaty; daughter in law, Roxanne Gregory; son in law, Hon. Jan Fiss.
Evelyn is survived by her husband of 75 years, Bill Gregory, Lebanon, IL; son, Bob Gregory, Staunton, IL; daughter, Marsha Weston-Fiss, Shiloh, IL; grandchildren, Derek (Gwenn) Weston, Jared (Kristin) Weston, Stephen (Katie) Gregory, Robert (Ashley Norton) Gregory, Cory (Natalie) Tally; great grandchildren, Gregory, Grace, Leigha, Raquel, Brooks, Richter, Emery, Palmer, Eleanor, William, Christian.
Memorial donations may be made to First United Methodist Church, Lebanon, IL.
Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
