Evelyn Greenlee "Booba" Hunter

Evelyn Greenlee Hunter, born on March 28, 1946 to the late Evelyn Greenlee and Bo Reid. She was born and raised in the Red Hill Community of Clemson, SC. She was a graduate of Blue Ridge High School in Seneca, SC. Evelyn was known as, "Booba" to all of her family and friends. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, great grandmother, auntie, cousin, and cherished friend. She passed away peacefully after a period of illness.
Evelyn remained a proud resident of her hometown until she married her late husband, William F. Hunter, of Winston-Salem, NC. Following his passing, she returned to South Carolina, making her home in Anderson.
Evelyn was a loving and generous woman, known for her candid spirit and a heart of gold. She was stern when necessary but always prioritized the needs of her children, family, and friends. She enjoyed riding around town with her nieces, Teresa, Cheryl, and Gina. To know her was to love her, a sentiment felt by all who experienced her genuine nature and unwavering kindness. A woman of deep faith, Evelyn loved the Lord and attended church faithfully until her health limited her visits. Her life was a testament to her generous spirit and dedication to those she held dear. She will be profoundly missed by all who were fortunate enough to be part of her life.
She leaves to cherish her memories: her children, Mark Greenlee- Seneca, SC, Cassandra (Kevin) Caldwell-Winston-Salem, NC, Christopher (Tasha) Greenlee, Seneca, SC, Stephanie (Julian) Norman, Anderson, SC, and Joliva (Tori) Hayes- Tampa, FL; her sibling, Harry (Shelia) Greenlee- Hampton, VA; her uncle, Richard Greenlee- Clemson, SC; her grandchildren, Miesha, Malasia, Mortice, and Desmond Greenlee, Erik Gambrell, Kevin Jr. and Vivian Caldwell, Sayvon Lee, DeVonte Gilliard, and Kenyida "KJ" Greenlee; 7 great-grandchildren; her goddaughters, Khristy Jackson Glover- Anderson SC and Carolyn Anthony Bailey-Winston-Salem, NC; her best friends from childhood, Rev. Julia Bell- Clemson, SC and Leila Grate-Anderson, SC; her dearest friends, Janice Grate Jackson - Anderson, SC, Marie Davis, and Sara Spencer -Clemson, SC; and adopted family members, The Red Hill Family, Azalee Curry, Alexandria Bell, Adrian Lewis, Andrea Earle, Todd Finklea, Felix Finklea, and Karry Craft Walker.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by: David Greenlee (brother), Dolly G. Dean (sister), Kenneth Greenlee (son), Jordan Lane and Rodney Gambrell (grandsons).
