Evelyn E Livingston

Evelyn Elaine Livingston, age 96, of Fillmore, IL, passed away Wednesday, January 14, 2026, at her home in Fillmore, Illinois.

Evelyn was born May 19, 1929, the daughter of Raymond Joseph and Hazel Vesta (Usher) Alexander in Fillmore, IL. She married Francis S. Toberman on July 22, 1951. He passed away due to an accident on September 28, 1958. She later married William "Bill" E. Livingston on April 8, 1960 in rural Witt, Illinois. Bill passed on March 21, 2002. Evelyn was a homemaker but also worked several jobs over the years, including working in a factory and running a dress shop. She was also the caretaker for Miller Funeral Home in Fillmore for nearly 50 years. She was a Den Mother for her sons when they were in Cub Scouts. Evelyn was a lifetime member of Fillmore Methodist Church, and she enjoyed square dancing, camping, thrift shopping, quilting, and cooking Sunday dinners for her family. She founded coffee and gab in 2009 after the local restaurant closed. She enjoyed attending quilt and gab, and did so up until the last few weeks of her life.

She is survived by her children, Douglas F. Toberman of Fillmore, IL, Dennis W. (Jean) Toberman of Hillsboro, IL, and her son-in-law, Kyle Schmedeke of Irving, IL; her grandchildren, Todd (Abby Corzine) Toberman of Assumption, IL, Tara Gelsinger of Vandalia, IL, Derek Toberman of Waterloo, IL, Megan (Scott) Strausbaugh of Hillsboro, IL, Kayden Schmedeke, and Kason Schmedeke both of Irving, IL; her great grandchildren, Cameron, Brittney, Codie, Chloe, and Kinlee Gelsinger, Grady and Charlotte Toberman, Dax and Jaxon Toberman, Izac, Nolan, and Tobyn Adams, and Cody Strausbaugh; her great great grandchildren, Blakleigh, Adalynn, Gracelynn, Emberlynn, Everleigh, Benson, Skylar, Nova, Raelynn, and Hudson; her sisters, Joyce Neisler of Ramsey, IL and Janice Toberman of Fillmore, IL, and many nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husbands; daughter, Deneta Schmedeke; brother, James "Dow" Alexander; brothers-in-law, Dale Neisler and Stan Toberman.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 24, 2026 at 11:00 AM at Miller Funeral Home in Fillmore, IL, officiated by Pastor Myron Kirk. Burial will follow at Glendale Cemetery in Fillmore, IL. A visitation will be held prior to the funeral service from 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM. Memorial donations can be made to Glendale Cemetery, Fillmore Historical Society, Fillmore Methodist Church, and/or Fillmore Fire Department.
