Rev. Houston Cullen Jackson, age 94, of Fillmore, IL passed away December 20, 2025 at Hillsboro Health in Hillsboro, IL.

Houston was born December 10, 1931 in Vina, Alabama the son of James Killis Jackson and Linnie Pearl (McKinney) Jackson. He married Ellen Warren on August 18, 1952 in Booneville, Mississippi. She passed August 18, 2021. Houston served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War. He worked as an electrician before becoming a minister. He attended Clear Creek Bible College then became a minister and he spent his life serving the Lord. He was a member of the Ramsey American Legion and served as the Chaplain for many years after he retired from ministry. He was also a member of the Fillmore Baptist Church. He loved gardening, fishing, and especially loved spending time with his family.

He is survived by his sons; Gary (Edna) Jackson of Mooresville, IN, Darrell Jackson of Campbellsburg, KY, Danny (Kathy) Jackson of Mooreville, MS, Mike (Debbie) Jackson of Fillmore, IL, Wayne (Sue) Jackson of Vandalia, IL, and Charles (Terri) Jackson of DeLand, FL, 16 grandchildren, 37 great grandchildren, 24 great great grandchildren, and his sisters; Margie Carter of Decatur, AL, and Evon Flaherty of Kenosha, WI.

He is preceded in death by his wife; Ellen Jackson, his parents, an infant son, his 2 brothers, and 2 of his sisters.

Services will be held at 12:00 pm Saturday, December 27, 2025 at the Fillmore Baptist Church in Fillmore, IL, officiated by pastor Mike Plummer. Burial with military rites will follow at Glendale Cemetery in Fillmore, IL. A visitation will be held prior to the service, from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm also at the Fillmore Baptist Church. Memorial donations can be made out to the Fillmore Baptist Church. Miller Funeral Home, Fillmore, IL is in charge of arrangements.
