Evelyn Long, a cherished member of the community, passed away on November 16, 2025, at the age of 77.
Born in Philadelphia, she was the daughter of the late William and Evelyn (née Schnezel) Swartz.
Evelyn dedicated many years of her life as an Administrative Professional for the Federal Department of Education, where her work contributed significantly to support the educational landscape. She was a devoted mother, and also worked part-time as a “lunch mom" at St. Pius X School, where she made a lasting impact on the lives of countless children.
Evelyn was a woman full of life, finding joy in various pursuits. Her passion for dancing, especially Zumba, brought her happiness and allowed her to share her vibrant spirit with others. Additionally, she had a green thumb and delighted in gardening and planting flowers, which added beauty not only to her life but to the lives of those around her.
Evelyn was the beloved wife wedded 43 years to Bernard J. Long; and the loving mother of Brian Long. She is also survived by her extended family and many friends.
Family and friends are invited to remember Evelyn at a Visitation on Friday, November 21, 2025, 9:00 to 10:30 AM at St. Pius X Church, 220 Lawrence Road, Broomall, PA, followed by a Funeral Mass commencing at 10:30 AM. Interment thereafter at Holy Cross Cemetery, Yeadon, PA.
