Evelyn Bramlet Smith formerly of Sunizona passed away October 30, 2025, at the age of 95. She was born in Swisher County Texas on March 26,1930, to Charlie and Gracie Bramlet. She was the 5th of 6 children. When she was young, her family moved to Plainview, Texas. At thirteen, she began working in a local drug store, beginning her long life of work and service.

Before leaving Plainview, she married and had two children. 1962 Evelyn and her family moved to Sulphur Springs Valley in Arizona, living in Elfrida, Willcox and finally Sunizona. Her life work in Arizona was farming. Her favorite thing to do was drive the tractor. She always said she and her quiet time with God on her tractor.

After moving to Sunizona, Evelyn became a faithful member of the First Baptist Church of Sunizona. She loved children and kept the nursery at the church for over 40 years.

As life has it sometimes, Evelyn found herself alone in late 1973. She continued to farm alone until she married Glenn Smith in June 1975. She and Glenn now had an extended family, but they never felt the kids were "extended", they were never "stepchildren" they were just their kiddos. Glen and Evelyn were married for 48 years before his passing.

Evelyn's life was about loving Jesus and serving anyway she could, cooking was her favorite act of service. Even when she could no longer able to serve physically, she would ask "Is there anything I can do for you?"

Evelyn is preceded in death by her parents, Charlie and Gracie Bramlet, her loving husband Glenn Smith, one son Jerry Smith, her son-in-law Phil Curtis: one grandson, one sister and four brothers.

Evelyn is survived by her daughters, Bobbie (Mark) Grider and Johanna Curtis, and son Tommy Simmons. She is also survived by 12 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren and 6 great-great grandchildren. Funeral Services were held November 3, 2025, at Whites Funeral Home in Azle, Texas and burial took place at the Light Cemetery in Sunizona.
