Evelyn R. Weems

Evelyn R. Weems, 96, passed from this life to her eternity with her lord and savior on Friday, December 5, 2025. Evelyn was born on September 20, 1929, in Victoria, Texas to George Alden Gasch and Dean Marie (Black) Gasch.

Evelyn, also known as Nana was talented in many aspects of her life. She was a master of sewing, quilting and needlepoint work. When Evelyn wasn't working or spending time on her projects, she could be found actively spending her time in her church St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church in Frankston. She was a devoted Catholic woman who cherished her lord. Evelyn was a kind and loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. Not a day went by where Evelyn didn't talk about how much her family meant to her -- her family was arguably her most important achievement in life.

She was preceded in death by her parents, George Alden Gasch and Dean Marie (Black) Gasch,

Sisters, Helen Freeman, Mary Tompkins; brothers, Kenneth, Bill, and Vernon Gasch. She is survived by her sister Yvonne Dodson, daughter Barbara Hudgens, son Joseph Lake, granddaughter Crystal Satterwhite, grandson Joey Lake, great granddaughter Jennifer Satterwhite, Courtney Lake, Chelsea Lake, Corbin Lake.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to Heart-to-Heart Hospice, especially Kelli and Robin, for the compassionate care provided to Evelyn in her final days. Additionally, we would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to Marilyn Kramer, a truly wonderful and caring friend, who devoted many years to looking after Evelyn.

The Funeral will be officiated by Rev. Msgr. Zacharias Kunnakkattuthara. A funeral mass is scheduled for 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, December 10, 2025, at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church in Frankston. A Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. and rosary will begin at 10:30 a.m. at the Church. She will be laid to rest at Bullard Cemetery in Bullard, Texas.

Pallbearers will be David Satterwhite, Otha White, Joe Lake, Joey Lake, John Wayne Gasch and Bill Gasch.
