Evelyn M. Wingard, 84, of Flora, passed away Thursday, May 29, 2025, at her residence surrounded by her family. She was born in Clinton County on June 5, 1940, to Lawrence and Bernith (Lane) Waters. She married Richard L. Wingard on May 24, 1958. He preceded her in passing on January 17, 2016.
Evelyn was a graduate of Cutler High School in 1958. She was a loving wife and mother and loved taking care of her family and her home. She was a member of Deer Creek Presbyterian Church, Order of the Eastern Star in Flora since 1958 holding several offices, and Mother Advisor for many years of the International Order of Rainbow for Girls of Flora. She was an avid artist, had a love of quilting that she shared with her mother, and had a passion for motorcycle riding that she shared with her husband. She also enjoyed traveling and going on cruises. Her spunky personality and wit will be missed by all that knew her.
Evelyn is survived by her daughters, Cathy (Sandie) Wingard, Dee Bubel, Julie (Brad) Hislip, and Bobbie (John) Bordner; five grandchildren, Corban, Caleb, Levi, Lydia, and Esther; and five great-grandchildren.
Along with her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Lorene Landrum; and a brother, Mike Waters.
Visitation will be held from Friday, June 6, 2025, from 10 am until the time of the funeral service at 11:30 am at Deer Creek Presbyterian Church. Burial will follow at Maple Lawn Cemetery in Flora. Day & Genda Funeral Home ~ Reinke Chapel in Flora is assisting with the arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made to Deer Creek Presbyterian Church.
