Everett L. Brackett, 83, of Canton, Georgia, died on August 15, 2025, at 6:30 p.m., at home with his family.

Everett was born November 4, 1941, in Galesburg, Illinois. He was the oldest son of James and Ruth Brackett and brother to Janet, Ellen, Bob, and Bill.

Everett grew up in Galesburg and graduated from Galesburg High School. He attended Open Bible College, where he obtained a degree in theology. Shortly after that, he moved to Portland, Oregon, where he attended Cascade College and attended Chapman University for his Master's in Family Counseling.

Everett married Rosemarie Walter on August 10, 1968, in Portland. They had one daughter, Kristi.

Everett's life was full of travel and adventure. His greatest joy was cruising with his wife, family, and friends. He frequently told people that he had done 38 cruises all around the world.

Everett dedicated his life to helping kids be able to afford college. He served as Director of Financial Aid at Northwest Nazarene University and other colleges in the Pacific Northwest.

The last 14 years of Everett's life, he and his wife lived with their daughter, son-in-law, and two grandsons. Everett was so proud of his grandsons and the men they had become.

Everett is survived by his wife, Rose; daughter, Kristi (Brian); two grandsons, Eli and Kye; sister, Ellen; and brothers, Bob and Bill.

Cremation was accorded. Visitation will be 11 a.m. to noon, Friday, October 3, 2025, at Radiant Worship Center in Galesburg. Memorial service will follow at noon with Pastor Mark Dexter officiating. Online condolences and memories may be shared at www.h-p-w.com.
