Everett Gerald Fleming was an adventurous spirit with a compassionate heart, born on November 30, 1980, in Blackwell, OK, USA. He passed away unexpectedly on Friday, January 24, 2025 at the age of 44 while travelling through Springfield, Missouri.
Everett was a lover of nature, his adventurous spirit shining brightest on camping trips and fishing expeditions. He was never one to be bound by place or routine, instead choosing to embrace the thrill of travel and the joy of new experiences. His journey took him from his birthplace in Blackwell, Oklahoma, to Wellington, Kansas, a place he would call home for the rest of his life.
He made his living in the fast-food industry, a role he fulfilled with pride and diligence. Despite not graduating high school initially, Everett demonstrated a continued drive for academic achievement when he recently earned his diploma from Oxford, Kansas. This accomplishment was a proud moment for him, showcasing his commitment to personal growth and development.
Everett's compassionate nature was most evident in his unwavering faith and relationship with Jesus, a connection he continually strived to deepen and strengthen. His life was a testament to his personal values, his faith providing a steadfast foundation that guided his actions and decisions. Remembered for his adventurous spirit and compassionate heart, Everett leaves a legacy of resilience, determination, and unwavering faith.
Everett is survived by his father, Bill Fleming of Wellington, Kansas; mother, Wanda Husband of Wellington, Kansas; brother, Crist Fleming of Peabody, Kansas; brother, Justin Fleming of Wellington, Kansas; brother, Michael Gonser of Wichita, Kansas; grandmother, Laura Fleming of Wellington, Kansas; grandmother, Darlene Smith of Wichita, Kansas, and a large extended family. He was preceded in death by both of his grandfathers: John Everett Fleming and Arthur Gonser.
A visitation will be held at the funeral home from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Thursday, January 30, 2025. His family will be present during this time to receive and greet friends.
Funeral services for Everett will begin at 10:00 a.m., Friday, January 31, 2025 at the First Baptist Church, Wellington, Kansas. Interment will follow at Prairie Lawn Cemetery, Wellington, Kansas.
