Poultney- Everett Stephen Hansen Jr., 71, of South Poultney, died on January 31, 2024, at Rutland Regional Medical Center.
He was born in New Milford Connecticut on June 10,1952, to Everett S. Sr. and Alice (Allen) Hansen.
Everett grew up in Connecticut, graduating from Henry Abbott Technical School.
Everett moved his family to Vermont in 1988, operating a dairy farm on Blissville while maintaining a job as a forklift technician with Liftech in Syracuse, NY.
He loved the outdoors, especially the Glen Lake area, boating, and kayaking. He also enjoyed stock car racing.
Everett was affectionately known as the guy who could fix or build anything.
Everett is survived by his children, Carolyn (George) Wyand of South Burlington, Vermont and Stephen (Bridget) Hansen of Burlington, Wisconsin, five grandchildren, a sister Donna Newman and a brother Frank Hansen, a special friend Stephanie Patterson of Castleton and his former wife Susan Noodwang of Wisconsin.
Per his wishes, there will be no services. The family would like to thank his many friends in the community who assisted him during his illness, especially Mike and Pat Davenport and Stephanie Patterson.
