Everett Hunt, of Hastings, Nebraska, passed away on October 27, 2025, at the age of 89.

Memorial services for Everett will be held at 10:30 AM Saturday, November 1, 2025 at Faith Lutheran Church in Hastings with Pastor Paul Dunbar officiating. Burial will be in Parkview Cemetery. Visitation will be an hour prior to the start of the service. Apfel Funeral Home is assisting the family.

He was born on July 12, 1936, in Wall Lake, Iowa, to Charles and Pearl (Harms) Hunt.

On May 7, 1966, Everett married the love of his life, Donna, and together they were blessed with one daughter, Tori Hupf.

Everett worked for many years in the construction field and later for U.S. Electrical Motors, before retiring from the City of Hastings. He was especially proud of his work helping to construct sections of the interstate through Nebraska. Everett’s family was a great source of pride, and he worked hard to provide for them throughout his life. Known for his strong work ethic, Everett was a dedicated husband, father, and grandfather.

In his free time, Everett enjoyed fishing, boating, spending time at their lake house, bowling, watching football, and playing cribbage. His family was his greatest joy, and his grandchildren were the light of his life.

Everett and Donna were longtime members of Faith Lutheran Church, where they worshipped and served the Lord together. Through their faith community, they formed many cherished friendships.

Everett was preceded in death by his wife, Donna; father, Charles Hunt; mother, Pearl Harms; stepmother, Irma Hunt; and his brothers, Keith Hunt of Springfield, Missouri, and Eddie Vannice of Hastings, Nebraska.

He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Tori and Stephen Hupf; grandchildren, Lauren (Zachary) Bell and Xavier Hupf; and great-grandchildren, Henry and Charlotte Bell. He is also survived by his brother, Ronnie Hunt of New Iberia, Louisiana; sisters, Karen Fisher of Las Vegas and Janice Baker of Hastings, Nebraska; as well as many other loving family members and dear friends.

Everett’s life was one of quiet strength, steady faith, and deep love for his family. He will be missed immensely by all who knew him.

Memorials in Everett’s memory are suggested to Faith Lutheran Church.
