It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Everett Gary “EG” Mullinax. He passed away peacefully on May 1, 2025, surrounded by his family and loved ones. Gary was a beloved, husband, son, brother, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War, where he served in the Army Airborne division. After his service in the Army, he worked for General Motors in Georgia and Ohio. After retiring from General Motors, he began a career with the Forsyth County Parks & Recreation Department, where he eventually retired as well.

Gary made a lasting impact on many across Forsyth County by coaching youth baseball, softball, football, and soccer. When he wasn’t at a ball field coaching or cheering on his grandkids at a sporting event, he could be found in the woods. EG loved hunting and some of his fondest memories were made at deer camp, where he spent time with his wife, brothers, son, nephews, grandkids, and closest friends.

Gary was born on December 14, 1946. He was born and raised in Forsyth County. He was married to his lifelong sweet heart, Sarah Susan Mullinax, for 59 beautiful years. They fell in love in grade school and married at ages 16 & 19, just before he left for Vietnam.

He is preceded in death by parents, Everett & Ruth Mullinax; In-laws, Leonard & Sarah Barnett; Brother, Ronnie Mullinax.

He is survived by his wife, Sarah Susan Mullinax; Daughter & Son-in-law, Cynthia & Ross McCullough; Daughter & Son-in-law, Melissa & David Anderson; Son & Daughter-in-law, Christopher & Jaime Mullinax; Grandchildren: Mac & Gracie McCullough, Jessica & Anslee Anderson, Molly & Austin English, Alli Mullinax & fiancée Isaac Godfrey; Great-Granddaughter: Lacie Lane English; Brother, Michael Mullinax; Brother & Sister-in-law, Rickey & Patti Mullinax; nieces and nephews.

Services to celebrate the life of Mr. Everett Gary “EG” Mullinax will be on Tuesday, May 6, 2025, at 2:00 PM in the chapel of Ingram Funeral Home with Rev. Garry English and Rev.
