Ewell Keith Wilson, 90, of Pax, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, February 1, 2025, at Bowers Hospice House following a short illness.
Born September 16, 1934, in Beckley, WV, he was the son of the late Burman and Macy Craddock Wilson.
Ewell was a retired coal miner, a beloved retired member of the Corner Gas and Grill staff, and he was a faithful member of Long Branch United Methodist Church where he served as the Sunday School Superintendent and member of the choir for many, many years. Until a few years ago, his favorite hobby was caring for his little animals, Joe, Bonnie, Destiny, and Gypsy.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife Millie, a grandson John David, and siblings, Ada Bell Cornett, John David, Jerry, Alex, Fred, Warren, and Burman Wilson, Jr.
Those left to cherish his memory are his sons Ronnie (Pat) Wilson of Pax and Michael (Ann) Wilson of Hampstead, NC; grandchildren: Autumn Catron of Beckley, Ashton (Nick) Wilson of Martinsburg, Helen Wilson of Hampstead, NC, Tommy (Megan) Gwinn of Canton, NC, Todd (Rachel) Gwinn of Palm Coast, FL; great-grandchildren: AJ Gwinn, Logan Gwinn, Cheyenne Harris, Ethan Harris, Seth Catron; great-great-grandchild: Haven Harris.
A private viewing for family will be at 10:30 am on Tuesday, February, 4, 2025 at Tyree Funeral Home in Mt. Hope. Graveside Rites will follow at Noon at Pax Community Cemetery with Pastor Dwayne Williams officiating.
Nephews and family friends will serve as Pallbearers
A special thanks to his nieces, nephews, and special friends that visited him often. Also, to the Fourth Floor South Nursing Staff at Raleigh General Hospital, and the amazing staff and volunteers at the Bowers Hospice House for their loving care and attention.
