Ezra R.D. Forrest was born in Scott County, Arkansas to Frank Forrest and Maudi Jones Forrest. He married Delie May Evelyn Rhodes on July 2, 1955, and they had 2 children- Debra Kay Forrest Needham and Randy Kenneth Forrest. Ezra passed away peacefully at his home.
Ezra was one of the top two sewing machine mechanics in the US, and he and Delie worked in the garment industry all over the state of Arkansas - Mena, Mt. View, Ashdown, Camden, Gravette, Arkansas as well as Talihina, Oklahoma. At retirement, they decided Mena was where they wanted to come home. Ezra opened his sewing shop, and the whole family worked to clear the land, build a barn, and turn it into a home. They always grew a large garden, and helped neighbors take care of their cattle.
Ezra loved his Blue Grass. He and Delie traveled all over Arkansas listening to talented musicians and joining them whenever he had the chance to. He played with many groups and people.
Ezra was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Delie, his son Randy, and his son-in-law Rocky Dean Needham.
Ezra loved and always helped his family. He is survived by his daughter Debra, several grandchildren and great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and a lot of friends.
