Fabian Chris Falgout, born on December 20, 1964, in New Iberia, Louisiana, and a lifelong resident of the city for 60 years, passed away on April 5, 2025.
Chris was a loving, caring, and giving person who touched the lives of everyone around him. Always ready to lend a hand, he never hesitated to help others in any way he could. His heart was big, and his kindness left a lasting impact on many family members and friends who adored him.
Chris found joy in the simple pleasures of life. He loved starting his day with a hot cup of coffee and a few lottery tickets, taking his daily bike rides, and, most of all, sitting by the bayou catching big fish. He was the family's proud fisherman.
Family meant everything to Chris. He cherished the time he spent with his children and grandchildren, making memories that will be held close in their hearts forever. He also loved hanging out with his best friend Connie Smith and her puppy, Papi.
He is survived by his children, Brandie Payton (Rodney), Aaron Stelly (Erline), Hanna Falgout, and Joshua Falgout; grandchildren, Estela Elena Stelly, Aaron Joseph Patrick Stelly, Jr., and Mya, Payton, and Journey Jones; siblings, Anthony (Tony) Falgout, Paula Romero Cortes, Perry Romero, Jr. (Crystal), Chad Romero (Carnella), and Phyllis Romero Broussard (Donovan).
He is preceded in death by his mother, Phyllis Falgout Hebert; father, Adam Migues; stepfather, Perry Romero, Sr.; sister, Ronda Migues; grandparents, T-Ovey Romero, Willa Porrier, Minous Falgout, Sr., and Ewella Falgout; and uncle, Danny Falgout.
Chris will be remembered most for his beautiful smile and loving heart. He brought light into the lives of those who knew him and was truly special to so many. He will be deeply missed.
Special thanks to his children, family, friends and Iberia Medical Center for their support and care.
