GodFather of Victor Poche’, Theodore Trenchard and Chris Lorando (Katie). Robert is also survived by many other loving cousins and friends.

Robert “Bobby” Paul Falgout peacefully entered into eternal rest on October 11, 2024 at the age of 76, surrounded by his loving family at home. Bobby was born on July 20, 1948 in Marrero, Louisiana and was raised with his 7 siblings who have all taught us the true meaning of FAMILY. Bobby spent his childhood on the family’s dairy farm which is neighbored by Hope Haven. His father, “Daddy” taught him the true meaning of hard work and the importance of family love. He lost his mother at the young age of 9 and was then raised by his father and older siblings.

Bobby graduated from West Jefferson High School and then served our great country in the United States Navy. During this time he met his wife of 55 years, Dianne. They were married on November 9, 1968 and then in 1972, they were blessed to meet their first daughter Sue (Susie Q). In 1973, he welcomed into the world his daughter, Melissa (Princess) and in 1978 his son, Dustin (Tiger) was born. Like his Daddy before him, Bobby worked with all his strength to build his home and family as his heart was bigger than his body.

Throughout his life he was known for his love of God, family, music and sports. He loved spending time with family and friends supporting his beloved Saints as a true Saints fan and cheering on his LSU Tigers. He believed his greatest legacy would be the loved ones he left behind. His passion for playing guitar will carry on to future generations as he introduced the love of music to so many. He was a devoted husband and father. He was a true role model and example for all of us to live by. He had a sense of humor that encouraged so many through life’s challenges. He was the greatest example of the power of positive thinking and perseverance. As Bobby would say, “inch by inch, anything is a cinch” and “never a doubt in my mind”.

Known by many names, Bob, Dad, Robert, Bobby, Pops, Paw-Paw, Uncle Bob, Mr. Bobby, Parrain, Unc and Uncle Bobby, you will truly be missed by so many people who love and adore you. Although it is time for “the final rollback” as you would always say to us, “you gotta say ‘bye’ so you can say ‘hi’”. We will see you again when God calls us home.

In lieu of flowers, we suggest a donation to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, https://www.stjude.org/donate/donate-to-st-jude.html. As Dad would always say, “a hundred years from now it will not matter what my bank account was, the sort of house I lived in, or the kind of car I drove…but the world may be different because I was important in the life of a child.” (Quote by Forest E. Witcraft, teacher and scholar)

Family and friends are invited to attend the Visitation at MOTHE FUNERAL HOME, 2100 Westbank Expressway, Harvey, Louisiana on Saturday, October 19, 2024 from 8:30AM until 11AM. A Funeral Mass will be held at the funeral home on Saturday at 11AM. Interment will be privately held at a later date. We are true blue “Black and Gold Fal-Dats”, who have supported our beloved Saints by cheering loudly during winning seasons, and we are known to go as far as wearing bags over our heads during terrible seasons. In Bobby’s honor, the suggested (optional) dress attire is to dress up or dress down in your favorite black and gold or your favorite sports team apparel.

Services will be followed by a Celebration of Life to celebrate all of our loved ones who have been called home. Please feel free to join us at 1429 Avenue D, Marrero, Louisiana 70072 after the services. All musicians are encouraged to bring musical instruments for a Falgout “tradition” jam session.
