Fabio Alberto Rojas (55), beloved husband, father, son, and brother, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, July 28, 2025.
He is survived by his wife, Georgia (Yates) Rojas, his children Matthew Rojas and Emma Rojas (fiancé Clay Englehart), his father Fabio Rojas, and his siblings Frank Rojas, Alex Rojas, and Angelica Rojas. He also leaves behind his beloved nieces Maria Jose Rojas and Bianca Sofia Rojas, as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family members, and friends who will forever cherish his memory.
Fabio was born on October 2, 1969, in Bogotá, Colombia, and grew up in Santandercito. His deep curiosity for the world and its oceans led him to study Marine Biology at Universidad de Bogotá Jorge Tadeo Lozano and later work aboard the Eugenio Costa Italian Ocean Liner, traveling the globe and embracing the richness of different cultures. Carrying those experiences, and a profound love for his Colombian roots, he came to the United States as a young man, determined to build a meaningful life for himself and his family.
Fabio spent many years working in the hospitality industry in Fairfield County, where he met his future wife and ultimately built a life full of love and laughter. Known for his strong work ethic, quick wit, and playful sense of humor, he was adored by both his employers and the many customers who became friends over the years.
Outside of work, Fabio's passions reflected his vibrant personality. He loved cycling, blasting The Red Hot Chili Peppers, tinkering with projects around the house, and sharing truly terrible dad jokes that always made his family groan and laugh at the same time. He found joy in watching fútbol, cheering on the New York Yankees, following all types of motorsports, and doting on the family pets, who adored him right back.
Fabio's life revolved around his family and his work – two places where he was happiest and most fulfilled. He had an incredible generosity of spirit, always willing to help a friend or stranger, and was the kind of man who would truly give you the shirt off his back.
He was kind, selfless, and endlessly giving – a man whose presence brought light, humor, and warmth to every room. His love for his family was boundless, and his legacy of kindness will live on in the many lives he touched.
Calling hours will be held on Monday, August 4, 2025, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Harding Funeral Home, 210 Post Road East, Westport, CT 06880.
A funeral service will follow on Tuesday, August 5, 2025, at 11:00 AM in Church of the Assumption, 98 Riverside Avenue, Westport, CT 06880.
