Fabiola De Jesus Escobar

Fabiola de Jesus Escobar, age 89, of Wonder Lake, Illinois, passed away peacefully on September 1, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.
Born on March 29, 1936, in Carmen de Viboral, Colombia, Fabiola was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. Guided by her unwavering faith, Fabiola lived her life with grace, compassion, and hope. She took comfort in her prayers and dedicated her life to raising her children and nurturing generations of her family with unwavering love and care.
Fabiola was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 52 years, Jesus Alberto Escobar; her sons, Dr. Sergio Escobar and Jaime Escobar; her granddaughter Anne Marie; her parents, Ana and Salvador Vélez; and her siblings Miryam (Darío) Mejía, Hernán Vélez, Dolly Vélez, Amparo Vélez, Nena Vélez, and Nora Vélez.
She is survived by her daughters: Lucy (Edward) Schwall, Betty (Anthony) Hurmis, and Vicky Jackson, her daughter in-law Eva Ramos, and by her cherished sisters Rosita Vélez and Ester (Hernando) Trujillo.
She was a loving grandmother to 22 beloved grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, and aunt to many nieces and nephews who adored her.
Fabiola's heart was full when she was cooking for her family in the kitchen, tending her flowers in the garden, dancing and listening to mariachi music, and being surrounded by the people she loved most. Her warmth, strength, and joyful spirit left an indelible mark on everyone who had the honor of knowing her.
She will be deeply missed and forever remembered. Her family finds comfort in knowing she is once again surrounded by her loved ones and held in everlasting peace.
A visitation will be held at Justen Funeral Home & Crematory located at 3700 W. Charles J. Miller Rd McHenry, IL 60050, on September 10, 2025, from 4:00 to 7:00 pm, resuming on September 11, 2025 from 8:30 – 9:30am. Immediately followed by a Funeral Mass at Christ the King Catholic Church located at 5006 E Wonder Lake Rd, Wonder Lake, IL 60097 at 10:00am. The entombment will be at All Saints Catholic Cemetery & Mausoleum located at 700 N River Rd, Des Plaines, IL 60016.
