Fannie Coby Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Craig Funeral Home - Longview on Dec. 18, 2025.
Fannie Marie Coby and her twin sister Annie were born to Jessie and Alice Webb Coby on November 26, 1947 in Hallsville, Texas.

Fannie attended Galilee High School in Hallsville and graduated from Hallsville High School in 1966. She entered the work force after high school, landing a job at the Waffle Shop in Longview where she was employed for some 30 years.

Having united with the church at an early age in Hallsville, she attended the New Zion Church of Christ. Later, she moved her membership to the South Main Church of Christ in Gladewater. Then, she became a member of the East Cotton Street Church of Christ . One of her passions at East Cotton was the church food pantry, and she supported that ministry well, giving to it generously on a regular basis.

Fannie grew up in a large, close-knit family: eight girls and 5 boys and their parents. On Thursday, December 4, 2025, she departed this life to join her father and mother and six sisters and five brothers.

Her passing leaves a void in the lives of surviving relatives including her sister Jannie DeVance, her nieces Lameta DeVance and Laronda (Moe) Dibba; her special great niece Keyshondalyn Renfro and her special great nephew, whom she lovingly called "Scooter Wooter," Keyvontray Renfro, all of Longview. Also, mourning her loss are other relatives, friends, and her church family.
