Farnell Cole Obituary

Born on April 2, 1956, in Lake City, Florida, to Ed and Jeannette Cole, Farnell grew up with a love for the outdoors and a knack for mischief that never left him. A proud member of Santa Fe High School's agriculture club, he went on to attend Santa Fe Community College before dedicating more than 42 years of his life to law enforcement. His career was marked not only by his service and honor but also by his sharp wit and humor, which earned him the respect and love of colleagues and friends alike.
Farnell's life, however, was defined far beyond his badge. He loved writing country songs with his "bubbas," fishing, Gator football, storytelling, and sharing laughter over fried fish, boiled peanuts, or a tailgate spread. Whether at a cookout for charity, a Nashville songwriting session, or a quiet day outdoors, he lived with integrity, generosity, and joy. His advice to all of us still rings true: "When you quit having fun, it's time to go home."
He is survived by his loving wife, Julie Cole, his daughter Brandy C. Hamm, son-in-law Danny Hamm, grandpup Jax, brother Jason Cole and his loving wife Mary, sister-in-law Becky Cole, mother-in-law Nancy Lee Christian, sister-in-law Jane Brotherson and her husband, Ed, and many nieces and nephews who adored him. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ed and Jeannette Cole; his brother, Jimmy Cole; and his father-in-law, Bill Christian.
Farnell was kind, respected, and deeply loved. To know him was a privilege. We will miss him dearly, but we are eternally grateful for the love, laughter, and legacy he leaves behind. There is no greater example to mankind of what it means to have a heart of service and he will be forever in our hearts.
