Fausto "William" Jara

On Wednesday, April 6, 2016, Fausto "William" Jara, 95, passed into eternal life with his loving family by his side. Born in Ancash, Peru, on November 19, 1920, he was the son of the late Eusebio & Luisa (Durand) Jara. He was a member of St. Augustine's Church in Hartford and was a President and Co-Founder of the St. Rose of Lima Committee in Newington. He loved his farm in Capellania, Peru where he had many animals he loved dearly. He enjoyed sports, including his favorite Peruvian soccer team Tarapaca and the Boston Celtics, and one of his greatest passions was Tango music. Prior to retirement, he had worked for many years at Manchester Modes and previously the Hilton Hotel of Hartford. He is survived by his beloved wife of 67 years, Lola (Aldave) Jara, his children; Wilda Maglieri and husband Danny, Rose DeMartino, Ketty Papa and husband Sal, Nora Jara and husband Armando Zarazu, Claire Sagarino and husband Robert, Cesar Jara and wife Darka, and Carmela Savvas, 10 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. He was predeceased by a son Willy "Henry" Jara. His funeral will be celebrated on Monday, April 11, at 9:30 AM from Duksa Family Funeral Homes at Newington Memorial, 20 Bonair Ave, Newington, CT with an 11:00 AM Liturgy of Christian Burial at St. Augustine's Church in Hartford. Rites of Committal will follow the Mass at Cedar Hill Cemetery. His family will receive relatives and friends on Sunday from 4:00 until 7:00 PM at Newington Memorial.
