Elizabeth "Betty" (Kostka) Healey, 89, of West Hartford, passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by her family on February 1, 2026. She was the beloved wife of the late Robert Healey for 51 years before his passing in 2007. Betty was born in Hartford on May 7, 1936, daughter of the late Stanley and Mary (Dobrydnio) Kostka. She was a longtime West Hartford resident, graduate of Hall High School, and worked for many years as an Administrative Assistant for the West Hartford Public Schools. Betty was a devout member of St. Mark the Evangelist Church in West Hartford. She played a major role in community involvement and betterment as a co-founder of the neighborhood organization CONAC. Betty passed these qualities and values down to her daughters, her family was voted "Family of the Year" for their work in the community. Most importantly, Betty was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. Her family was her passion and brought her great joy. Betty will be deeply missed.

Betty is survived by her loving and devoted daughters Linda Bopp and her husband Ronald, Lois Benedetto and her husband Mark, Janet Fournier and her husband Richard, and Karen Healey, all of West Hartford; grandchildren Keith Bopp, Kyle Bopp and his wife Jamie, Kelley Fournier, Katelyn Madden and her husband Daniel, and Kayla Benedetto and her fiancé Matthew Marcarelli; and cherished great-grandchildren Sadie Bopp, and Ella and Brody Madden. She is also survived by her sister Ann Bowers and her husband Edward; niece Lori Siriano and her husband Jonathan; and great nephews Dylan and Aiden Siriano. Betty also leaves behind her beloved puppy Ebbie.

Betty's family would like to thank the West Hartford Police, Fire, and Paramedics for their professional comfort and compassion.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Betty's family on Saturday, February 7th from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. at the Duksa Family Funeral Home at Newington Memorial, 20 Bonair Ave., Newington. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:30 a.m. at St. Gianna Parish, St. Mark the Evangelist Church, West Hartford. She will be laid to rest beside her husband in Fairview Cemetery, West Hartford. To share a condolence with her family, please visit www.duksa.net.

My deepest sympathies to you all. Betty was one of the sweetest souls I've been lucky enough to have had in my life and she will be missed dearly. I know she will live on in all of the hearts of those she touched and her beautiful spirit will stay alive when warm memories are shared and remembered. Sending you all my love and warm thoughts.
