Fay Linette Brown, 62, of Middlesex, North Carolina, passed away peacefully on August 2, 2025, after a ten-year courageous battle with stage 4 breast cancer.
Fay was born on October 1, 1962, in Fairmont, West Virginia, to the late Harold and Linda Reedy. She graduated from Indiana University of Pennsylvania in 1986 with a Bachelor of Science degree in nursing. She later earned a Master of Science degree in nursing administration from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 1995. She began her career in nursing, working in various areas including cardiac telemetry and cardiac critical care. Later, she transitioned to home health services and eventually into nursing administration. After the birth of her daughter, she chose to leave healthcare and began a new chapter, partnering with her husband, Tommy, to operate their family-owned business, Comfort Master Heating and Air Conditioning. Together, they owned and operated the company for over 28 years, building it with hard work, dedication, and, most importantly, love. Fay married her
husband, Tommy Brown, in 1987, and they shared nearly 38 wonderful years together. She was a devoted wife, a loving mother, and a faithful member of Zebulon United Methodist Church. Fay had a true servant's heart and served her church in countless ways, including through the United Methodist Women's Circle, the church council, and as a choir member.
She loved to travel, volunteer, and, most of all, spend quality time with her family and friends. Fay was a proud Rotarian and an active member of the Zebulon Rotary Club, where she served as club president from 2014 to 2015 and again from 2019 to 2020. She also served as president and board member of the Zebulon Chamber of Commerce and recently worked with the Chamber's mentorship program.
Fay is survived by her husband, Tommy; her daughter, Meaghan (Andrew) Haugh; and her brothers, Tom (Melody) Reedy and Tim (Cat) Reedy. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, aunts, cousins, and special friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Linda Reedy.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, August 9, 2025, at 12:00 p.m. at Zebulon United Methodist Church in Zebulon, NC. The family will receive visitors at 10:00 a.m., prior to the service. Following the service, there will be a gathering at Fay and Tommy's home from 3-5 pm, and all are welcome. In honor of Fay's joyful spirit and love of fashion, the family invites guests to wear cheerful colors.
For friends and loved ones who are unable to attend the service in person, a virtual option will be available. Please visit the Zebulon United Methodist Church Facebook page for viewing details and updates.
Fay's kindness and unwavering faith touched the lives of many. She will be deeply missed, but we rejoice knowing she is at peace in the arms of her Savior. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to Zebulon United Methodist Church, in honor of her lifelong dedication to her church and community.
