Fay Perkins Jones, 88, of Amarillo, passed peacefully on February 25, 2026.
Viewing will be held on Sunday, March 1, 2026, from 1 pm to 5 pm, at Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia. The family will receive guests from 2 pm to 4 pm. Funeral services will be held on Monday, March 2, 2026, at 10 am in the funeral home’s Brentwood Chapel with Pastors Zane Perkins and Brian Mashburn presiding. Burial will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery.
Fay was born on October 28, 1937, in Klondike, Texas to L.K. and Clarice (Hooten) Perkins. The family relocated to the Texas Panhandle and Fay would go on to graduate from Olton High School, even though she told her father she wanted to quit.
On March 23, 1957, she married William “Willie” Jones in Childress, Texas. Together they built a legacy of devotion, love, and a family. They were members of Southwest Church of Christ for many years. Fay loved the Lord and her family, but William was her whole world.
Fay was preceded in death by her parents, her beloved husband, William, who passed on September 18, 2025, and her sisters, Madie Williams and Clara Sims-Proffitt. Those left to cherish her memories are her daughter Pam Adams and husband Randy, son Kenneth Jones and wife Laurey, sister Deborah Payne of Tool, Texas, brothers, Jimmie Perkins of Abilene, L.V. Perkins of Amarillo, and Johnnie Perkins of Lawton, Oklahoma; as well as her grandchildren, Derrick Adams (Amber), Dustin Adams (Amber), D’nissa Hester (Trace), Cameron Jones (Jennifer), and Tyler Jones (Darymar), and 10 great-grandchildren. Fay also leaves very special friends and neighbors, Gary and Daphynne Steinkirchner, and her beloved Yorkie, Cody.
