Fay Shields

Mrs. Fay Shields, peacefully departed this earthly life on March 18, 2026, at Fort Washington Health Center in Fort Washington, Maryland. She was born to the Ervin Sr. and Patience Blackledge in Washington, DC. the third of eight children.

Fay, was educated in the Washington, DC. graduating with honors from Chamberlain Vocational High school. She was a devoted and loving wife, mother and grandmother who made life better for her small immediate family.

Fay, married the love of her life, Alonzo Shields and was happily married for over 50 plus years. She enjoyed taking care of home, going out dancing with her husband as often as she could. She was a pillar of strength for our family and her friends of decades; she was often used as a sounding board for her brothers and sisters and friends. She was very family oriented in every way possible. Fay absolutely loved her only daughter, Yolanda and her two grandsons Zavar and Trayvon they were the loves of her life endlessly.

Fay, was predeceased by her husband Alonzo Shields and her parents Ervin Sr. and Patience Blackledge, and her 4 brothers and 1 sister; she has two sister living Cynthia and Inga. Fay, leaves to cherish her memories, her only loving daughter Yolanda Blackledge and her two grandsons Zavar and Trayvon Blackledge who will miss her forever. Fay, has a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends who will miss her dearly.

Fay, was loved by her husband, daughter and her two grandsons to the moon a million times and back, now she is with us in spirit and memories. While she has now rejoined her loved ones that have been awaiting on her arrival. Peace has come to Mom now, enjoy the rest of your life forever knowing you are loved. Never stop dancing with Dad, the love of your life...with peace, we love you forever and you will never be forgotten; your only daughter Yolanda...smiling!
