Fay Jacqueline Van Loo, 89, of Charlevoix, passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 11, 2023, at her home surrounded by her family. She was born on March 29, 1934, in Detroit, the daughter of William and Edith (Fischer) Cadieux.
Fay graduated from Eastland High School near Detroit. She was married to Roxy Van Loo on August 15, 1953 and moved to Royal Oak where they began raising their family. In 1960, they moved to Ellsworth and eventually to Charlevoix. Fay worked for 38 years at the Charlevoix Area Hospital in the laundry services department before retiring.
More than anything else, Fay loved to spend time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She also enjoyed many years travelling the world with her life partner, John Lignell.
Fay is survived by five children, Roxanne Chandler (Billy Thompson), Bryan Van Loo, Darrel (Debbie) Van Loo, Darrin (Christine) Van Loo, and Roxy (Karen) Van Loo; her sister, Sharon Rogers; 13 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; the Father of her children, Roxy Van Loo; her life partner of 32 years, John Lignell; two brothers, Donald Cadieux and Gerald Cadieux; two sisters, Carol Hartley and Sandra Loper; and a grandson, Jason Van Loo.
A memorial service will take place at 1pm on Saturday, June 17, 2023, at Center Point Assembly of God in Charlevoix. After the service the family invites you to Ferry Beach North Pavilion for food & refreshments.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Care Team Hospice, 604 West Main St., Suite A, Gaylord, MI 49735.

We always enjoyed being together at work or out for dinner at Carols on the porch enjoying her flowers and each other . We miss you so much Faye and love you

I met Faye 24 years ago when I started working housekeeping with her . She was a very sweet and caring women who I learned to love we met for lunches with other retirees and had a great time . Thank you Faye for your friendship you will be greatly missed condolences to her family
