Faye Lefler Davis, age 98, of Gastonia, NC, living through nearly a century of change, passed away at home on January 14, 2026. She was raised in Concord, NC and attended Winecoff High where she was a star basketball player and was voted Most Athletic Female and Most Popular. Faye was a lifelong sports fan and faithfully watched Duke and Carolina as well as the Braves throughout her life. Faye had a successful career in retail where she was a buyer and manager of children shoe stores.
Faye is survived by her son Jeff Lefler (Becky); grandson, Scott and great-grandson, Abram. Also, Aunt Faye, as she was known by everyone, served as a mother figure to numerous nieces and nephews; Vicky Craig, Gail Huneycutt, Tootie Nolen, Bev Weaver, and Greg Boyd.
Her second love of animals was shown by years of raising dogs, cats, and feeding birds in her yard.
A visitation celebrating her life will be held February 21st from 1:00 - 2:00 PM at Southminster Church, 1401 Hoffman Road, Gastonia, NC.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Southminster Church.
