Faye Carpenter Doby

Beloved mother, grandmother and friend, Faye Carpenter Doby, age 80, of York, SC, passed away on Thursday, May 8, 2025, at Carolinas Medical Center after a brief illness. The family will host a private celebration of her life on May 24th from 1pm to 4pm. For more information, please contact the Wolfe Funeral Home. Born in Lincolnton, NC she lived in Dallas NC, Stanley NC, Oak Island, NC and York, SC, She was the daughter of the late Grier Cephus Carpenter and Cecelia Burgin Carpenter. Surviving are her children, Christopher Michael Atkins (Carolyn Bowman) and Donna Atkins Norcross (Frederick C Norcross Jr), her grandchildren Adam Michael Atkins and Ian Christopher Atkins. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Paul Wayne Doby. Faye was a beautiful person inside and out. She exuded warmth and kindness to everyone she met. Her family, friends and neighbors will miss her laugh, her wonderful sense of humor, her thoughtfulness and her amazing carrot and pound cakes!
